LOL Enterprise Server for gaming

enterprise server is ludicrous. that thing alone costs about $2,300 :Q

his case is nice and clean and pretty though. 🙂

you know he warez'd it. NO WAY he bought that.

that guy sucks. that is not one of the best gaming computers in the world. without overclocking i don't know how any f-tard can claim this. he just bought a bunch of the most expensive crap he could find and put it together. his memory is slow and high latency, and i don't think those graphics cards are for gaming. they are for rendering, and probably perform worse than the best gaming cards, which cost less. that guy is a complete and utter noob

Why would you install enterprise server on a gaming rig? Is this guy just some retard that bought a winning lotto ticket?

Another thing worth mention .... ECC ram runs with slightly higher latency then regular ram.
SMP doesn't really benefit gaming much (unless you are multitasking and have lots of crap in the background going on, though this may change in the future)

A box with a single FX CPU and SLI 7800's as well as 2 Gigs of speedy ram would cost a hell of a lot less and offer much better performance in games. I am willing to bet SLI 6800 Ultras would probably be faster as well.

exactly. and thats what noobs do. if its expensive, they buy it and use it and say its the best.

you hit the nail on the head there.

People do this to their cars everyday, why is this drawing so much attention? We spend a lot of money on stupid useless sh1t, but when someone does it to a PC it becomes ridiculous?

because while people do that to their cars, this happens much less frequently as more people own automobiles than computers.

further, this forum is targeted mainly to the computer enthusiast rather than the car enthusiast, although there is a mix of both on the forum. all in all, however, you'll find many more people interested in reading about computer than about cars.

its not supposed to show benchmarks just an example of using an extreme cooling solution. And like I said since his board won't OC it would be another expensive tweak for him to blow cash on.

hell he might as well buy it. he seemingly has unlimited funds, anyways.

i don't like guys like this. guys who buy all this crap thinking its so amazing. i'm sure there's someone here on the forums who has a PC that would at least match that computers performance.

Seriously that PC is not going to be all that fast anyway. Using a server board like that is asking for a performance penalty, and so is using Windows Server 2003.

It's usually not thinking it's so amazing as what's in the budget.

Technically most can get by with a $150 CPU, $150 Vid Card, and 512MB of RAM, dodge neon, target clothing, and a studio apartment.

but hey when does anyone just get by with what they need.

This is basically using a F1 car as a daily driver. Just because it's fast doesn't mean its practical

is there a performance difference? i always thought it would have been better.

Not in terms of speed. They are actually a bit slower since they are optimized for rendering quality.
