Pastor and father-of-two Alan Martin set the bar high when he was bestowed with a 'Never-Ending-Pasta-Pass' six weeks ago: He planned to eat at the restaurant each day, twice a day.
It's a challenge that might have defeated even the most voracious eaters but Mr Martin, from North Carolina, is on track - eating 95 meals at Olive Garden over the past six weeks.
And with the pass costing just $100, the Olive Garden fan has already made his money back 15 times over - but insisted he has not gained any weight.

Now nothing will put him off his plan to continue eating Olive Garden twice a day until the deal runs out on November 9.
Mr Martin considers himself something of a celebrity at his local Olive Garden in Burlington, where he chows down a bowl of pasta for lunch and dinner - with extra cheese - each day.
He greets those steaming pasta entrees with the words: 'Hello friend.'

When he bought the pass back in September, he told the news station that he didn't mind if he put on weight because of the money he would have saved.
Mr Martin said that he hadn't had enough of pasta yet but by the end of the seven weeks, he would probably want a burger or pizza.

just... wow

They sold either a 100 or a 1000, gone instantly. This round of endless Pasta Bowl didn't excite me much, but you don't have to eat the pasta, just enjoy the soup and salad and dip bread sticks in the sauce. I like two of the soups for dunking as well.

Sounds like torture and I actually kind of like Olive Garden for what it is.

I didn't gain any weight but I have this pain in my stomach and my left arm and..................... thmbpt.

I don't think this guy likes Olive Garden as much as he is one of those idiots who tries to take advantage of every deal to the fullest extent. I used to work with a guy like that. He wouldn't go out to lunch with us unless there was a coupon or a deal that allowed him to have a free meal. He would scour deal sites and than poll who was in the market for something, so he could get the free one on a buy one get one free deal.

Yah, extreme cheapskates are out there. And there is a "reality" show about some of them now or something like that. Of course we all know how real reality tv shows are.

"He has eaten $1,500 worth of food - making back 15 times the cost of his $100 pass"

wtf,no. The average person spends $400 a month on food, good food. That's $600 in six weeks for a healthy diet.
And yes, you can see his flabby neck wattle and hear his arteries blocking.

The average person doesn't eat at Olive Garden every meal either. If the meals are around $15 a pop, twice a day, that is $900 a month.

Yea he was on a local radio show this morning. He said he wouldn't have cared what restaurant it was, he would have done it. He said even if it was Burger King, he would have done it because of it being a deal. He did say he especially likes Olive Garden, so it worked out for him.

didn't mind gaining weight <> didn't gain weight.

No, he's already fat. And pasta with extra cheese and those sauces are just loaded with fat, bad cholesterol and sodium.

Definitely not healthy for you and I wouldn't call eating this for lunch and dinner every single day "moderation."

dude, he didn't say he didn't gain weight, he said he didn't m9nd. personal liberty and all.

That would really irritate me! I could see offering to go half with someone, but to just come out and say, "you pay full price for your meal so I get mine free" is BS. What a jerk!
