$30 a year for something you use everyday isn't a lot of money. Most people checkin every hour, so its not like you're buying something that you're only using for 5 minutes a day. You can spend a good hour or two (total) a day reading and interacting.

Unfortunately, we live in a world where people want everything cheap/free and they want it to be the latest and greatest. You get what you pay for and you get what you put it. I'll make it simpler if you need. You get a free pen in the mail, and it explodes or dries out. You spend $6 on say a Dr. Grip and you get a pen that writes nice, feels nice and lasts a long time.

$30 a year is pocket change, I probably throw away nearly that in change every year because I don't like to carry it.

And another thing...since you think you are ENTITLED to speed for a forum this large without paying, why don't YOU take a gander at what Anand's monthly bandwidth costs are for this forum. The forums pull down an INSANE amount of bandwidth...MUCH more so than the main site. That's why you have to pay to play.

How long did you have for the page to load so you could make this "point"? If you truly didn't care, wouldn't all of this just be a colassal waste of your time?

Yeah, it's slow for me at times, but I won't complain for free access to find/ask questions about computer topics. Plus you'll have people who aren't logged in to show how many people are browsing through the forums, I've seen it grow from 80k to almost 100k total registered people, that would help it slow it down too.....

Its not about the money. Its about paying for something thats free everywhere else. Don't ya see, they've capped your bandwidth, forcing ya to pay to be uncapped. I'm sorry, but that seems wrong to me.

You're right. It does suck. And if paying $30 a year only bought ATOT, it would be the biggest waste of money imaginable. However, the tech oriented forums have saved me well over $30 in tech help so I find it to have been worthwhile. It's all about ROI. For me, the ROI has been there. I will have to decide again when my subscription is over.
