Man you people are spoiled or something, every forum I went to or go to other than this one you post a message and then come back the next DAY and see if maybe someone has responded, here is takes like 2 minutes to get a response...
This forum is far from slow but there are plenty of others that are just as fast at different times that anandtech forums are not.

I remember when I joined I was amazed at how fast the forums moved. Before Anandtech the forums I visited would have the same posts on the front page for 1-2 days. When I came to Anandtech, the front page would be completely different when I refreshed. Now its beginning to slow down a bit.

I think a lot has to do with the whole public mods thing.
Before those same people would post in a thread and every once in a while you'd see some random thread deletion or whatever.
Now many times it's almost like a taunting. Like the picture posting things...in the past everyone could clown on the thread, but as soon as a mod now does one you get a vacation for just posting an opinion.
Those that like to debate non-one sided have gone to 'tougher' forums where people can take a joke and know how to dish it out all the while not taking it personally.
Another thing is lately half the stuff that gets posted is obvious fabrication. Ever since L&R came out everyone is a player where before that no one would even believe simple date stories.
Still I like ATOT because it's worksafe for the most part. Not much risk of opening a topic and having some chick spread eagle at 1600x1200.

Sure but that doesn't mean their right just people love following each other like a pack of sheep. Thats what most people are anyway.

You can always start the "Bring Back Casiotech" movement. That smacktard usually managed to liven things up around here till he got banned. I forget if it was temporary or permaban.
Edit: Another fun thing for a noob such as yourself is start searching the archive posts for the classic ones from the past. At some point a user made a thread asking for links to the all time best threads. There were tons. No way a 7 month newbie like you has read all the greats yet.
