I joined in 2005 but I think I started lurking sometime around 2003-4. Just started regularly posting recently. I like this place, but I do miss reading the posts of some older members who don't post anymore... Dr. Pizza was a cool guy. And that Alkemyst dude was awesome. TridenT doesn't post anymore unless he's thinking about wasting money on a car.

Forums everywhere have been going downhill for the last 5 years and maybe even more. I think they were exciting back at the turn of the century since they were new and all but I think social media offers the same outlet and it feels more personal.

If you read ATOT enough, you realize that this forum only have a dozen or so everyday posters. Go to some sub reddits and you can find hundreds of daily posters (and good content like porn).

And your post get lost in the hords of others, and who cares about porn on a forum there are bazillions sites to watch porn free. They could take my balls before I use reddit. And I have tried to but I can not stand the idiotic interface.

Who wants to read this stuff anyways.
This isnt a helpful community board. Most people are looking to chop your head off as soon as they find an opportunity. Then it just unravells into a bunch of cursing.
Forget it. Its just a waste of time.

Some boards are moderated better and threads get shut down quick if you start attacking the person rather then actually trying to discuss the topic but since this forum likes the sound of a bunch of babies yelling and screaming then so be it. If thats entertainment to you then have fun. But be very careful trying to get serious answers here.
The technology side of this forum can be alot better though, like if you were asking for a cpu recomendation etc

Fuck you! No ones here wants your stupid opinion.

You have a point there but nothing is worse than the youtube comment system. No one will ever see your post there if there are more than 50 replies to the video.

So-called social media sucks. And reddit sucks only slightly less.o_O (Aside from the mostly ridiculously stupid content, text-only forums with bad threading are so 1990s. Early 1990s, no less...) (PS: And if you can't find your own porn, you don't deserve to watch it...)

I'm young right? I mean I'm not that far from 20 so I feel old but I doubt that counts. :D

I feel like Reddit is very fast paced which can be helpful, people get answers quicker. It also hurts though because stuff gets buried. It's also really impersonal, I know more members here than I do on Reddit even though I spend way more time there.

Reddit is also really fickle. I got over 4,000 points once for saying I saw nothing happen.

Social media took the place of forums, except for the giant infinite forums that is Reddit. There's no real reason for younger people to come here, as we don't offer anything compelling versus social media or the other handful of large tech forums.
at least tapatalk doesnt rape my phone, looking at you Facebook.

I guess the good thing about these forums is you eventually get bored and go do something else. It's easy to waste too much time on reddit. No offense, ATOT... :p

Reddit, you can swear all you want & they're pretty good about not allowing name calling & personal attacks. People are generally more civil.

Here, you can bully anyone you want on a repeated basis. Yet you can't type f@ck.

Which is more harmful to you- personal attacks or not reading 'f@ck'?

definitely the swares
