Yup .......... the Mola Mola or Sunfish is a biggun 🙂

I saw one at the Monterey Bay Aquarium 🙂

Cheers,

They have a white shark in the outer reef exhibit now. I want to go see that. Apparently it's the only one that anyone's ever been able to keep alive in captivity.

I just went two weeks ago. It was very cool. A fisherman accidentally caught it and informed the aquarium. Then they built a fence around this huge area of the ocean and watched it for a month to see if it'd feed properly and it was so they brought it home.

While we were watching the great white, a reef shark bit off the tail of a barracuda. That was funny.

They haven't been able to keep them in captivity because the GW Sharks kill themselves. They have electromagnetic sensors in their nose and if there are any grooves in the tank or any inconsistency the shark will ram into it. Also, the GW Shark is one of 2 warm bodied fish.

- the white whale is a sperm whale.

They said the reason is that they stop feeding. I never heard of your reason before. They didn't mention it at the aquarium.

There was also an article on CNN, that they captured a sound wave in the depths of the ocean and have no idea what it is. They think its something bigger then the great BLUE whale, imagine that!

I'm guessing a giant squid. It's probably the only thing we know of that could be that big and withstand the pressure down there. Then again, I know jack about the ocean. 😛

Wow! that incredible. Never even heard of an Ocean Sunfish. Thank god this isnt another "OMG! Is this a photoshoped pci?!?!111"

The ones before the Monterrey shark the one at Stienhart had severe problems with being sensitive to the tanks electronic discharge.. they said she could sence the pipes rusting and it was driving her nuts
this is usually why they wont feed is that thier sences are picking up human made electronic fields and throwing off thier sences..
there is alot of data on the web about this stuff. John Mckosker from Steinhart is one of the leading White shark specialists in the world..
he has been involved with the Monterey Bay shark now as well.. he was listed by name int he press release.

Im pretty sure I read somewhere that the tank for the outerbay is not only one of the largest in the world but was built from the ground up in anticipation of the special needs of a white shark..
Im hoping one day this shark will be a 25 foot monster in captivity Id love to see one in real life but screw that shark cage stuff lol.
