During my search for the best broadband router for my applications, I have decided to go with the Maxgate Ugate 3200
.

I have since ordered from buy.com and received the package this morning. When I picked up the package, I knew it was packed poorly because I can hear something slide across the box. Once I opened the package, my blood pressure shot through the roof and I knew I would never buy from buy.com again even if they offer $30 coupons and free shipping! Here's the visual evidence, judge for yourself.

once again, would I ever purchase another product from buy.com?

Well at least the item arrived -

I just recently ordered some software from them plus a box of envelopes and some batteries to meet the $150 minimum to get the $30 off coupon. When the box with the envelopes and batteries arrived at the office my secretary came in laughing 'cause the box was absolutely empty.

Fortunately the software arrived OK, and BUY.COM gave me a credit without an argument for the other stuff. But it wasted a lot of my secretary's time e-mailing them and then actually calling them because their e-mail system was down just then.

The problem is that they often do have the best prices.

 
Buy does suck.

I ordered 1 128MB compact flash card from them and they tripled ordered it!

It then took one month to get the charge off my bill (which cost me interest) and then they didn't refund the shipping charges even though I didn't order the other 2 cards!
 
Its not buy.com's fault. Its ingram micro's fault. I believe the triple order and double order issues were also their problem.
 
I have never had any problems with Buy.com and I have placed MANY orders with them. And as many others have mentioned, Buy.com, and most of the other big places (Onvia for one) have product 'dropped shipped' directly from the wholesaler be it Ingram Micro or Tech Data or whoever.
 
I've sworn never to buy from Buy.com a while back. The stuff I went through would amaze some of you. Find your bargains elsewhere. That's what I do.
 
Yeah, those Hitachis are especially sweet when you can get one for $167 incl. FedEx 2 day delivery. That was one hell of a sale BUY.CON had on them ... :Q
 
that's weird. i have ordered over 20 packages from buy.com, and every time i have to open the case very carefully, coz' otherwise all the "bubble" will fly out..... i got a lot of "bubble" inside the boxes.
