we got a notice last month saying we have 25 days to resign the lease. the letter was already mailed 12 days late to us as it was. so the next day we went to office and re-signed lease.

now almost a month later we get a letter saying you have till aug 31 to relocate, for failure to resign the lease. WHAT!?

g/f went to rental office today, we showed her the copy of the lease WE ALL SIGNED, she said no problem, it was probably just a mixup and the letters crossed in the mail, she has us on file.

should i be worried? if they came into our apt, to clean things up and noticed we were still there and went uhhhhhh.. we have a lawsuit on our hands, no? considering we have the signed lease copy...

You have a signed re-leasing copy; just confirm with them that they are indeed not going to send anybody over and that this is all taken care of.

Sounds like they are cool with it.

A lease has to have both your signatures, and the managers signatures and dates on it.

So if all those are on there, and within parameter, no legal recourse can be taken (unless forged)

Hold onto that lease agreement, if they evict you then you can sue them for relocation costs.

that signed lease is your evidence. if they mess with you, you can sue them for violation of the lease.
