This drummer sucks.

Nick Pierce. Doubt anybody's ever heard of him. He's got a lot of solo improv videos on his account, but these are two that I especially like.

As if the whole video isn't very impressive, around 3:20 he pretty much makes it known how fast, technical, and clean he is.

Props for using traditional grip.

Metal and blast beats aren't hard to play, though. His improv stuff was okay.

Pretty sick grooves. He has a pretty unique kit, lots of splashes and REALLY high toms... 6-8-8-14 maybe? I'm not a fan of those 'atomic bombs' though. They're just a god damn ripoff. One of my favorite's of all time has to be this though. Un-fucking-believable. Steve Gadd (the third guy to come in for the intro) starts off with the beginning to 'Crazy Army' which used to be a military march type thing. I had to play that for my NYSSMA final one year ... needless to say, it's hard as hell. That, on top of Gadd's thunder fucking kick, it's amazing. Another guy to note is Steve Jordan.... this is a good video of him in action. Nothing very difficult... but he's so tight and has amazing grooves. Glad to see more ATOT drummers around? 😛 :thumbsup:

I thought Nick Pierce had really weird toms. His whole kit would shake as he played it. Weird IMO. Whatever works, though.

Well, that's all very exciting I'm sure, and at least he didn't hold his sticks like little tea cups the whole time, but frankly if he can't play a slow 12/8 blues at about a dotted-quarter = 33 and groove so deep in the pocket that the National Bureau of Standards calls him up when they want to calibrate their atomic clocks...I'm not that interested.
