This Doesn't Look Very Safe Part 9

Better to do it on a RWD car so that steering isn't an issue. Of course, it should have a limited slip or locking rear diff too.

Am I the only one who can't watch these vids without cringing? (not the op vid though).

I keep thinking about my GF or family getting insta gibbed by mistake.

Just watching that video, how close his hands are to the "tool rest", the "chisel". That would have considerable leverage if he hogged in just a bit and it chewed into a knot. Even though he mentions 100, 150hp (which one is it?!) there's not too much momentum so it wouldn't throw him over the hood.

The unicorn splitter, yes very dangerous too but you can stay out of the way...

I didn't see what was so inherently dangerous in the OP. And, this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbYp0bVn4pI&feature=related
Me want!

I wonder how much it would cost to build one to do that?

Looks like the cycle time is fairly slow, being bi-directional makes up for it. It also sounds like it's running off a 3600 rpm piston gas engine! Those are kind of annoying. (diesel FTW!)

That (as a processor) is an Atom, whereas this would be a Xeon MP!

It has the enterprise price tag but if you really dig logs you should get a woodie watching that!
