Those are some HUGE logs. 😵 Would be a fun challenge trying to do that by hand lol Guess when they're that big you would not try to split in half, you just want to split off smaller sections at a time.

Just watching that video, how close his hands are to the "tool rest", the "chisel". That would have considerable leverage if he hogged in just a bit and it chewed into a knot. Even though he mentions 100, 150hp (which one is it?!) there's not too much momentum so it wouldn't throw him over the hood.

The unicorn splitter, yes very dangerous too but you can stay out of the way...

Looks like the cycle time is fairly slow, being bi-directional makes up for it. It also sounds like it's running off a 3600 rpm piston gas engine! Those are kind of annoying. (diesel FTW!)

Back in the day when people did not leave common sense at the door, it was actually quite commonplace.
