Hello all, I've just put together a new system and have everything up and running just dandy. However, my LAN port is giving me a bit of trouble as I get the error code, this device cannot start (code 10) from device manager.

The motherboard I am using is the Asus P8Z68-V Pro. I have downloaded the latest drivers from Intel for the Gigabit Ethernet Controller and that has not solved the problem. I've every which way of installing the drivers and none of them worked. I even ran CCleaner's registry cleaner to see if that cleared anything up but no luck there either. The other thought I had was to update Windows but since I have no network connectivity that will not likely happen. The exact port on the board is the Intel 82579LM.

My question to you is, have you come across this error code before and if so how have you solved it? Also if you need any more info from me I'll be glad to provide it.

Thanks.

That error code can mean that the device is defective. If you tried the driver that came with the MB and the one from ASUS website then it sounds like the onboard LAN is bad.

That's what I was thinking but I wanted to exhaust all possibilities before doing an RMA. Thank you for the response.
