This Christian guy wants to take me to church. How do I politely refuse?

Since you are Muslim (Pakistani), tell him you will go to church with him, but first you need to go to Masjid that day. Take him to your Masjid.

Shhh! I am from Mauritius.

Here is what I will do. I will go to Church with him once, just so he doesn't say "Oh these close minded Moslems, they don't even try to learn about other religions". If church doesn't interest me, and if he invite me again, I will say "I appreciate the invitation, but no thank you". How is that?

I know what I am gonna do at church.. check out the babes! I often pass by this one church near my apartment and on Sundays, I see all the hotties going there.

Just tell him:

"Sorry, I can't. I'm fairly sure the church will burst into flames of eternal hell fire immediately upon my entrance, damning the souls of everyone inside it, at least that's what happened the last time. Or....maybe it was the five gallon can of gasoline I lit afire and tossed inside that did it? Hmm, I can't recall for certain, but it was definitely one of those!"

Really? I refuse to go back to my church until my evil pastor leaves. Think you can make a visit when he is the only one there? 😛

Thank you. I hear people say that all the time and they almost never apply that tolerance to Christians.

Tell him politely no, but thanks for the invitation. In the instance that he pesters you (which he doesn't sound inclined to do but some misguided Christians do, thinking it's their job to get everyone to convert), remind him of what Christ instructed the apostles to do in towns that didn't accept their message- shake the dust off their feet and move on.

I appreciate the offer, but no thank you.

Zakath15 responded w/the above; the first and MOST POLITE AND APPROPRIATE RESPONSE IF YOU DONT' WANT TO GO.

First and foremost, I am polite and mannerly. A fine line (.1um) after that, I'm a sarcastic, vengeful bastard. There's a virtual library I could write about "Organized Religion and The Weak Human Psyche" but we won't go there right now.

Let me say this as an older, more wordly person; you're screwed.

This guy/gal will be insulted if you refuse his offer. He will feel slighted, and in the future will treat you like a subhuman. I hope for your sake he's not your boss.

Accept the invite, and whether you feign joy or sadness,he/she/it will forever view you as a "succesful convert from sin." Of course, you'll be expected to then live the life "of a good Christian" and quote the bible and get married and have 234 children within the first year, of course.

And should you faill to live up to these unreasonable (by sane standards) standards, you'll be an outcast...just like i fyou refused the invite in the first place.

Your course of action is clear. POLITELY refuse the invite. AND WHEN HE/SHE/IT questions you as to what your grounds for refusing the invite are, you do the ultimate "ball in your court" and say:

You know, a TRUE Christian wouldn't ask me why I chose to worship God in my own way and not yours.

Say that. ^^^ It messes them up every time.

hey, I'm a non-practicing believer... at least thats what i call myself... i dont practice any specific religion, but i beilieve wholeheartedly in God.
i was raised as a Reform Jew, and had a Bar Mitzvah at 13... then i quit judiasm... I've studied many different religious texts, and been to many ceremonies including many "flavors" of Christianity.

In all honesty, just tell your friend "I really appreciate your offer to include me, but I don't feel comfortable going to church with you."

I think you should go with your gut and just go to church to check out the HOTTIES.

I don't really care about religion either way, in the spiritual sense. But, what does pique my interest is all the hotties that go to church. Makes me wish of taking up the religion, but I just can't bring myself to care enough. OH well.

Also, it kinda weirds me out when ppl really get into the songs and speeches and stuff... too weird.

Look deeply into his eyes and touch him on the thigh and say in a breathy voice "Why yes, I'd love to COME with you to church!! Then afterwords would you take me to HEAVEN?!"

LOLOLOL, if life were a videogame with a "load" option, I would totally do that!!!

Just say "No thanks, I go to Fry's on sundays" 😀
Unless you are shopping around for a new religion, there is really no reason to go to someone else's church. No hot deals there 😀

Was it because you were promised great gifts and then someone brought you boggle.

Since you are a moslem, why not say "Sure, I will come to the church with you. And you will then come to the mosque with me, right?"
