Some dude did this to me one time. He was listening to music and I asked him what it was, turns out it was music from his church so he asks me if I wanna hear. So I say sure and listen to it and it sounds boring, like all church music. He then asks me if I want to go to one of his masses. I basically said, 'maybe.. let me get back to you on that one". This pretty much dropped the subject and he never asked me again...

I'd be offended by anyone that *told me* that I would be going to church with them. Of course, he could have just been joking around. How would you respond to someone asking you to lunch or the movies & you didn't want to go? Same thing, just tell him that you are not interested.

I'm agnostic but I will still go to church(or temple/mosque) if asked. The Qur'an said that a Muslim had no better friend than a Christian, so go to his and take him to yours...same God and all what does it hurt?

I have to deal with this all the time from my mother. I beleive in God and everything but since I married a Catholic and I was raised Baptist it dosent go over very well in the family. I usually try my best to avoid the subject or ignore her a little. But she most always brings it up on the weekend I need to go with her to church. It gets very old after a while.

Good advice, actually, and that's a really good way of approaching the whole issue. Most people just want to share the experience and have you experience an important part of their life.

Shhh! I am from Mauritius.

Here is what I will do. I will go to Church with him once, just so he doesn't say "Oh these close minded Moslems, they don't even try to learn about other religions". If church doesn't interest me, and if he invite me again, I will say "I appreciate the invitation, but no thank you". How is that?

I know what I am gonna do at church.. check out the babes! I often pass by this one church near my apartment and on Sundays, I see all the hotties going there.

tell him "that's not my thing. thanks though." a true christian friend does ask you if you would like to go to church with him because he cares about you. such a person would also respect your not wanting to go. just remember ... we share cause we care.
