Yeah, I misspelled it too. Oh, well.

Looks like you'd be paying about $35-36,000 for a quality one from DeLorean.

~8500 in two years if this site is right. They were ahead of their time is a lot of ways. Unfortunately, IIRC DeLorean's bad business sense played a part in the car failing.

How was the Delorean ahead of it's time? The stainless steel skin was pretty much the only real innovation on the car, and it was wildly impractical and very, very expensive to repair. Rear engine, gullwing doors, etc., had all been done by then, and better. The Delorean failed because it was overpriced, underpowered, poorly designed, and one of the nastiest-handling "sports" cars ever built.

Heh, it was built in Ireland...wasn't it?? Back when Irish labor hadn't progressed to where it is today...

The reason for its failing: They used the absolute crappiest V6 available, the Volvo V6. Now you know why all Volvo's have inline engines.

No one would have ever heard of Delorean if it hadn't been for back to the future.

He speaks the truth.

you are not old enough to remember Mr Delorean

John Z. DeLorean was an up and coming automotive force after designing the GTO. Becoming Vice President of Pontiac in the early seventies, DeLorean envisioned new dreams. He wished to compete against the big three automotive companies, and start his own car company.

Not officially, no. But if you ever drive off a bridge on accident, let's just say that the car will float.

That and they travelled through time once the car hit 88 mph. It got to be a pain in the ass when overtaking trucks on the interstate.

Check the "tool compartments" in the fenders, gas tank, and wheel wells.
