This certainly won't help the police's image...

"I was angry, and I'm still kind of angry. That's my tax dollars, your tax dollars. You've got no business flying in to get doughnuts," said Keith Turner, who works nearby and was taking a smoke break when he saw the chopper swoop in.

Is that ironic, hypocritcal, or both?😀

A Krispy Kreme employee who asked not to be identified said he didn't see why people were making a big deal of the unusual doughnut run.

"Cops got to eat, too," he said.

And Krispy Kreme is cop food!

Oh, c'mon, what if there was a hostage situation at the Krispy Kreme. It could happen, some angry Joe is tired of waiting his 2hrs in line to get a dozen doughnuts, so, he pulls out his weapon and orders everyone on the ground. People scream, the alarm is pressed. The Police Helicopter just so happens to be flying overhead at the time, so, they swoop down and rush in. Before the doughnuts have gone stale they've got the guy in custody and business is back to normal.

And they proved they could do it all in less than the time a normal person takes for a smoke break... what is that these days, 25-30minutes--seems to be the average???

They need some sort of rescue basket that they can lower for the Krispy Kreme employee to load the doughnuts into. That way they do not have to land. 😉

I dunno, I thought it was pretty funny.. but I mean.. cops drive cop cars around, and they stop in at the ol' donut shop... I would presume that cops that are just cruising around in the police copter would be allowed to land every so often? Hmm ok actually now that I think about that, maybe not, I guess nobody wants a helicopter just coming in to land anywhere they like.

But it IS really funny that they landed and went for donuts, as opposed to landing ANYWHERE else. But I'm sure the logic went something like "hey man, wouldn't it be cool if we had some donuts?" "damn, good idea - let's go!" .. I mean, I'd do it. hehehe.

Hey these guys put their lives on the line to get those donuts! They could had hit a telephone pole and be killed! That as a brave thing to do, and should be rewarded. Besides, they were just trying to keep the economy going.

Thats the only Krispy Cream place in town and they just showed up a few months ago.
On the weekends there is usually a line around the building to get doughnuts.
