This car yay or nay?

Way too expensive.

I sold my 91 Twin Turbo for $6500... and it was in pretty good shape. No way the non turbo is worth that much unless it is *spotless*.

Don't buy a 1990 300zx, get a 1991 or later. The 1990 has a lot of bug that get fixed in 1991

BULSH!T.... there are no problems that have been fixed after 1990... Where are you getting your info from?

Dont buy it, its way expensive. I just sold my pearl-yellow 90 NA coupe for 4800 (with 150 k).
Check out twinturbo.net for good deals on those cars. You can get NAs with that milage for under 5.

<- Hopefully buying a 90' Twinturbo over the weekend pics

Halik,
Just go to the site that you recommended (www.twinturbo.net) and ask in the tech section. 1990 has too much service bulletins from Nissan to list here.

As an example :
Service Bulletin #: FC0004794
Date of Bulletin: Jan. '91
Model: 300ZX
Year: 1990

Summary: Excessive initial timing advance, index notch on camshaft damaged, R/R crank angle sensor, camshaft and cylinder head--1990 300ZX CM

The problem was that the left cylinder head of a certain production # range of early Z cars ('90) was mis-machined. This caused the CAS to be thrown off in its readings of cam timing, so the symptoms are usually very sluggish performance or detonation. Eventually the readings of the CAS stray so far (for reasons unknown to me) that the symptoms show up when the cars have some mileage on them. I've heard of some having this problem and they replaced the CAS, but the CAS was expected to fail again, because the root of the problem is the badly machined left cylinder head.

By the way, the quote above was lifted from www.twinturbo.net in their FAQ section. Here is another 1990 bug that this site lists :

"Soft Valves (early models)
This is a known problem with the very early '90+ Z's, both NA and TT. "
