This can't be good...

My overclocking attempt went bad. For some reason only some of the multipliers worked, so I decided to remove the bridges and reconnect them. You can see what happened.

Do not use sandpaper on your CPU. 😀 (btw, it still works, I just can't adjust the multipliers anymore.)

hey tuffguy ..my xp2000 looks the same way..... many attemps to unlock and cleaning to vigerous.........still works great.......i am just going to have to be more carefull unlocking it
as in not shorting out the pins.......

Sandpaper + cpu = cool keychain.

hehe no

Sandpaper + xp cpu = big ass keychain...

As long as it still works! 🙂

Ain't that the truth, but it's would still be better looking than the old P133 keychain I've got 😱🙂

I see what you've done Tuffguy ,you've rubbed through the top insulating layer of the CPU exposing the Copper underneath which is earthed!

I exposed a tiny bit of Copper on my XP1500 when I was using a very small screwdriver to scratch off a blobbed bridge between the 1st 2 L1 bridges(pressed too hard!

) ,there is now a copper line going directly between the 2 pairs of bridges which makes it near impossible to join them without some going to the copper & earthing out!🙁.
So instead I joined a few L7(I think) bridges to alter the default multiplier ,it now thinks its an XP1600 🙂

you can repair that scratch with some nail polish....and then connect the dots...that is what i am trying to do on my 2000.....hope it works..........😀

I've heard that superglue works too 😉 😀

As soon as basilisk420 sends me the rest of the "kit" this XP1600(currently 10.5X148😀) won't know what it is! 😛

WU!!WU!!WU!!

I tried repairing the scratch with superglue but it is so close to the contacts I ended up covering them too ,that's why I gave up fully unlocking it.Anyway it isn't a problem any more ,the CPU is now the limiting factor as I know the RAM can take 152MHz ,but the CPU is at its limit at 148x10.5 ,that leaves a bit of headroom if I ever improve the cooling 🙂

know what you mean about covering the dots.........i have a little kids microscope i use to "get up close" to my work.....these old eyes dont see super strong any more....anyway i can see i covered the dots like you did .....and used a scribe to carefully punch a dot in the still soft nail polish......now i just have a to connect the dots ......again!!.......
