What Perk is describing is distinct from the "can taste", although I dislike that, too. I've never tasted it in any other beer.
This.
I actually haven't noticed that other, aluminum can taste in quite some time. I think they changed the packaging to include those inert white liners like they use in canned veggies and other food stuffs.
Around here, if you require/want a cheap beer, you can get Lionshead for $6-7 less a case than Bud and the other heavily promoted national brews.
It's a little watery, like
all bargain brews are, but it's an honest beer and tastes just fine.
You can spend more but still come in cheaper than Bud, Miller et al and choose Yuengling! Yuengling is so much better than them it's not even close.
But, imho, the worst part about Bud, the King of Beers, is not that it's relentlessly mediocre, it's that it's downright nasty. I guess those who've seldom or never had anything else just don't notice.
Meh. Each to his own, I guess.
The funniest part is that I was once in a place that had this outrageous special of free food AND free, unlimited alcohol, including mixed drinks and all their premium brews, and a table of yobs just over from me were ordering Bud all night long!
