This blows

About six months ago I was offered a promotion within my company at a plant in Kansas. Of course I took it and am glad I did. My boss found out that I knew computers and hardware quite well so I have been over to his house several times for repairs, setups, etc.

So tonight he asks me if I had some free time to come over and look at a problem he was having. Of course, I said sure. Went over there and the problem was no internet. Figured it would be a simple router reconfig/reset. Of course, no luck. Spent about two hours working on it and still couldn't get the damn thing to work. Tried everying and narrowed it down to the firmware not loading properly, but none of the Linksys methods would work.

So I left without repairing his network, but at least I got one computer on the internet so his daughters would stop bugging him. 😛

Sucks not being able to fix it, but at least I got to sit out drinking beer with my boss. 🙂

Only thing that worries me is my 6 month review is next week. :Q

Working on your own time to help him should not hurt your review at all.

And...wsince I have no way of knowing their ages, I tentatively ask for the obligatory pics of the boss' daughters. Request rescinded if young.

Try using the free Sveasoft firmware...That's nice stuff right there....
