I still use my 16x Lite-On CD-RW (purchased when 16x was the top speed out) on a regular basis, not a single problem, very quiet, fast drive. :beer:

I've had mixed results with Lite-On. Their DVD-ROMs (DVD-166) have served me well, but I've had two of their combo drives (LTC-48161H) which are very picky about what media I put in it, especially DVD-R's, DVD+R's, and some CDRs. My Lite-On 851S DVDRW is the same. It works, but is very picky about what media I use.
