"Third" (second) debate thread

I can think of three possible scenarios:
  1. He said "good" but mush-mouthed it so bad that it became polysyllabic. I'm disinclined believe this because he usually doesn't have too much trouble with monosyllabic words. It also doesn't seem like a typical pronunciation error. It is plausible because we know that he sometimes gets mealy-mouthed when his dentures fall out.
  2. He said "go ahead" but mush-mouthed it so bad that it became a single word. I'm disinclined to believe this because he clearly only says one word, based on his mouth movements. Based on my experience of his speech patterns the words that come out of his pie hole tend to string together into gibberish "sentences" but he doesn't typically speak made-up gibberish words. It is plausible because we know that he sometimes gets mealy-mouthed when his dentures fall out. Also, since he can't speak over and interrupt Biden then imploring the moderator to move on while Biden is still speaking would be the next best thing in his mind.
  3. He started to say "good" but caught himself and tried to adjust to "go ahead." I'm disinclined to believe this because it assumes Trump has a minimal amount of intelligence, self-awareness and impulse control to recognize that he's going to say something, catch himself, and change his statement mid-word. It is plausible because it most closely matches the sound that came out of his face rectum.

I’ll start off with, at first I heard “good.” I then went back and watched it as I was having lunch and heard him say “go ahead.” He says “ahead” more softly than “go” which creates the initial reaction of “good.” He was definitely talking to the moderator when saying this. I did not realize this watching it live, as you are so expecting him to say something outlandish that you do not initially realize he was actually in tune with the way things were going. I know, shocking.

Not sure your response makes anything of this other than all scenarios you are disinclined to believe. If that is the case, what scenario are you “inclined” to believe?

None of them. He clearly says a word with two syllables, "goo-hud." It can be argued that he meant any of the three things I said, but none of them are very convincing. "Goo-hud" will just have to join "covfefe" on the Turd Pile of Unknown Trumpisms.

He's not saying "good".

He's saying "go ahead" to the moderator and it's pretty obvious.

Saw people talking about this yesterday and was like WTF do your ears work?

I mean dude is a complete scumbag and probably would say something like that, but let's not make up stuff like he does every time he opens his mouth.

Trump doesn’t know how to properly enunciate his words. He creates word salad. It’s just like 2016 with bigly or big league.

You lose some power but less with HVDC. Phil Anschtuz isn't running one from Wyoming to Las Vegas to loose money.
Okay, so I looked it up and found that I am behind the times. I knew in Europe that had some short runs. Turn out that the conglomerate ABB built a 3300km 12GW (!) run from Changji to Guquan China. That is about what we'd need (4000-6000 km) to get power west of the Mississippi to the Atlantic seaboard grid. Now, I'm finally interested in solar and wind from such states. And, if done right, and quickly - may eliminate the need for base load nuclear (gen IV). Thanks!

Thought Biden overall did fine - that being said, if this was any other year/normal election, the oil and "I meant no fracking on FEDERAL lands" comments would sink him in PA. It still might, very close there.

Last PA poll that checked opinions on fracking was 52/48 against so ehh.

I liked how Morning Joe summed it up, the Quaalude Trump from this debate was better than the Chrystal Meth Trump from the previous debate. 😉

"Good" or "go ahead" doesn't matter. Immediately before Biden's statement the moderator suggested to move on. He said whatever he said with no pause after Biden's quip. It's not plausible he was intending to respond to Biden. I heard it live as "good" and chuckled inside, but I didn't have any suspicion he was actually answering Biden.

There's lots for which Trump is transparently guilty. Move on and pick one of those things.

Like the fact that he put babies in cages and 500+ of them have now lost their parents. Whether or not he said "good" to it or whether or not he built the cages, he's the one who did it and required court intervention to stop.
