Third person resume?

I am looking at a resume that starts out "Mr. Smith is a .........." Then it says "he provides thorough and professional........"

Is this a new thing, to write your resume in third person?

Unfortunately I am so desperate foe someone I am thinking of interviewing Mr. Smith. I had someone that was going to start last week but he had a change in his family and sent me an email 10 minutes after he was supposed to start that he was not taking the job. That sucked.

some people really hate it but he thinks it is perfectly fine

I see this a lot on Linkedin, not a personal fan of it because I prefer to be somewhat personable.

I guess it all depends what kind of "hack" you're trying to do.

Maybe just name recognition?
