"Third Party" Screensaver

My parents' computer is messed up. The screensaver doesn't work. Obviously this is very bad for their screen...

I was reading online, and I read that there is a problem with Windows XP that causes the screensaver to be interrupted (something along the lines of that) if there is a wireless mouse attached. They do have a wireless mouse; however, the solution was to download the latest patches via Windows Update. They have already done this (its set to automatic updates).

What I'm wondering is this: are there any "third party" screensaver programs out there? Maybe something that runs in the background and sits in the system tray, and pops up after X seconds of inactivity. All I've really found are screensavers themselves. Not necessarily stand-alone programs, but add-ons for the default Windows screensaver.

It is very hard to Google this, because I get so many results I'm not looking for (eg: the add-on as opposed to stand-alones).

Thanks.

I'm not a fan of screensavers. I have my monitor set to power down after 10 minutes. That saves wear on the monitor, and reduces electricity usage.
