Third party coverage

I'm in the process of buying my friend's car because she is leaving the country. The problem is I need the car right way mainly for work, but she is not leaving till early June.

So she said she could let me use the car on weekdays and she will use it on weekends until she leaves. Now the car is still under her title, her insurance, if I do use the car, will insurance cover if in case anything happens with the car? Will I be cover as a third party? I thought about buying it first, but it'd be the same if she still need it for a while.

Anyone know? I'm at work, and really have no time to call the insurance company 🙁
Thanks for any help

3rd party means that if you crash into someone, they are covered AFAIK.
You could ask her to add you as a driver to her insurance for the car. Or she may have car insurance that will cover any driver.

you can get insurance on it before you buy it
just call up your insurance company and add it. or go online and add a new vehicle

they may require an inspection at some point, but probably not before you actually buy it
