I forgot what the saying was... Cary = Containment Area for Relocated Yankees?
Congrats on the job. I was born and raised in Raleigh, graduated from NCSU, but moved out west to Seattle due to the lure of living on the west coast and wanting a change in scenery. Anyways, Raleigh (and the Triangle area) is a terrific place to raise a family, has great schools, relatively low cost of living, and lots of job opportunities. Probably in a few years, after I get over the young/independent stage, I'll probably want to return to Raleigh... or sooner if I get tired of the higher cost of living here.
Places to live... if you're working in Morrisville, maybe Cary or the Brier Creek area could be convenient. To me, Cary is a bit too "suburby", but hey, it floats some people's boat. Brier Creek was one of the hotter areas that people were moving into when I left last summer, given its close proximity to I-540/airport/RTP/Morrisville. Plus, it has most of the essential stores that you need. I used to live in N. Raleigh.
My mom's a realtor there, so I might be able to dig some other neighborhoods up for ya.
