I found that lenovo rips off for the parts. You are much better off getting the laptop and then purchasing ram, HD etc. seperately.

I just ordered a different supped up t61 and returning it back this week. HP seems to be a much better deal for the buck including the outlet for Dell.

Are you saying you had an order placed in Early January, and this is what Lenovo told you when you checked on the order status?

oh man so no one got the laptop yet? I ordered on January 8th. They emailed me back about a week ago to say that the standard screen that I ordered is out of stock and that they'll upgrade to wxga+ screen without additional charges. I said ok to that and now the shipping date is pushed back to February 25th.

I received mine about a week ago. Standard display, but with a 7 cell battery and bluetooth. Quite happy, I've loaded Vista Business an additonal 1 GB of Ram and a WD 250 GB Hardrive. GP

GPGOFAST, did you order with the two coupon discount? If so, did Lenovo honor that 539 base price as mentioned in the beginning of this thread?

Yes, received it for $539 MINUS 3.5% Fatwallet cash (still pending at FW until April), so it came it right at $520. I am really happy with the laptop. I wish it had DVI throughput on their dock, but realistically, this machine will probably never be used as a desktop replacement.

I must say that Vista in a laptop has come a LONG way in a year. I did a clean install and the machine is solid.
