They should be able to add it on still no problem. I think they are shipping 65W adapters by default with systems now; which is fine, they are smaller and just charge a little slower. You can order a 90W adapter if you like for faster charging (slightly larger) or just get another 65W, which is cheaper.
I'll go for the smaller one. They were $33 Friday but $39 today. Or am I dreaming? I guess since I'm not sure I'll just accept the $39 charge (assuming he lets me alter the order).

Does anyone know when I can expect a charge to be made against my credit card? When they ship?
I recently ordered and they charged when shipped.
He should be able to add it.

Thanks. I'm calling the rep within the hour.

I configured a Core 2 T7200, 14" SXGA+, 1.5GB RAM, 80GB, GMA950, CDRW, XP Pro, 9-cell for $1233. Quite a bargain if you ask me
I have the same system except my CPU is the T5500, my HD is 60 GB and I have the 6 cell. Did you pull the trigger on that system?

Nah I've got a nice Z61m and my old T42 I'm happy with for now. Won't be buying a new system till Santa Rosa

Mmm, nice. What's Santa Rosa? Code name for a new technology?

Question: Will I be able to run Vista/Aero with the T60 with the GMA950 integrated graphics if I have 1.5 GB RAM?

The reason I ask, is that I just read a post in the thread at Fatwallet Forums saying "no." However, the middle post in this thread appears to state otherwise.

Yes. GMA950 supports Aero and while with <1GB RAM it may not be officially supported, it should still even work then. With 1.5GB it will definitely work.

An FYI concerning Fatwallet 7% Lenovo holiday discount:

I ordered a system last night having accessed the site from Fatwallet (having logged into Fatwallet). I just got an email from Fatwallet detailing my discount, which is of course pending payment to Lenovo and an appopriate wait period to insure follow through.

Interestingly, this morning I don't see the additional 65 watt AC adaptor available as an option! Yesterday, it was $39, today it's a memory. I haven't talked to the sales rep yet. I have left him a couple of messages this morning. Hopefully he'll call. I'll ask him if he can add that item, even though it's not in the system now, evidently. I guess they're running low on them.

It will take them several days minimum for the order to ship and even then, if you have a separate accy they ship it separately. So you have some time, but if you don't get up w/him soon just have another rep add it. Shouldn't be an issue

I was thinking the same thing, but I really didn't have time to work anything up with another rep. Had to leave town yesterday morning. So, I left the rep a message to call me on my cell phone (several times), but still he didn't call, and I was getting depressed about it. However, he called me while I was waiting for my plane. Missed the call what with the noise in the terminal, but he returned my return call. He's really a nice guy. He said the order will have gone to the factory and it will take a couple of days to get it from there. I said I was in no hurry. He said he could add the adapter, and that he will call me Monday, when I've returned. Seems like it's working out.

Depends what you mean by dead. The $894 is history. The forum thread on the deal at Fatwallet Forums has posts where some people are actually saying that they prefer the changes. While the base price went up, some options are cheaper. One guy said he cancelled his order from before the changes and ordered a system with the new prices.

Call back and talk to other sales rep's. Or tell them something like "Darn, well, I only have $X in my budget for this and just can't buy that. Wish we could do something about it..."

This isn't Lenovo specific - all of these phone sales reps are on commission and have the power to take discounts off.

Yeah, like I said, I'd thought I'd saved my cart on Friday, 11/17, but it couldn't be found. I call Monday, 11/20 and tell a sales rep my story, saying I had thought I'd locked in Friday's prices. He said I was SOL. I called back shortly after (last Monday morning, 11/20), and talked to a different sales rep who was understanding. The new guy says he'll make adjustments. Says I can go ahead and order online (so I can get the Fat Cash 7% discount) at the current prices and then I should call him back the next day or two and we'll make the adjustments. So, I order that evening and call him the next day and he says (this is Tuesday, 11/21) that he'll have to call the order back from the assembly plant and he'll get in touch with me Monday 11/27 and we can work things out including adding a 2nd AC adaptor.

Well, all would seem OK except that I got an email yesterday saying at least some of the order had shipped -- probably the whole thing, I'm thinking, except that the 2nd AC adaptor isn't on the order. Today I got an electronic invoice, which didn't include the adaptor. The prices were all the ones from Monday night, no adjustments. I wonder if the sales rep failed to recall the order from the assembly plant.

Am I going to be able to get adjustments from the sales rep? He said he'd work up the order again and include a 2nd AC adaptor. I was under the impression that the system wouldn't ship until near Xmas, and that I had lots of time to cancel the order if things didn't appear to be working out as I'd hoped. This doesn't look good.

Just get in touch with the sales rep and I'm sure he'll help you out. If you don't want to wait for that particular one, call someone else and explain (act angry) and if they can't help you, get a supervisor on the phone. You can still return the order so I'd imagine they don't want to lose a sale 😉

Cool. Thanks!!

Tracking shows an arrival scan in my town this afternoon (Sunday). For some reason it says the delivery is "rescheduled" for Tuesday, which seems pretty weird. I'm going to be out of town Tuesday at least until the afternoon. In fact, I wasn't planning on being home until maybe Thursday, but I can change those plans and be home Tuesday afternoon and etc. If it comes tomorrow and I don't have some assurances from Lenovo concerning the arrangements I made with the sales rep, I wonder if I should refuse to accept shipment.

for those that had their orders shipped can you specify when you ordered and if you got the 1.5GB ram upgrade?

thanks!
I ordered a week ago today, and it's evidently scheduled for delivery to me (CA) today or tomorrow. Includes 1.5 GB RAM.

Edit: Less than 10 minutes later, it arrived! Not opening it, though, until I get a call back from a sales rep concerning issues detailed above in this thread.
