Thinkpad T40 help needed

I've got a Thinkpad T40, and from the looks of it, I can't turn the radio on so that it will connect to my wireless network. It was working fine on an unencrypted network last night. I have WEP set up as well as the SSID, and it just won't turn on. It will give me occasional messages that there are networks available, but when I try to connect, it doesn't do anything. Alays says that the Radio is Off. Help please! Anyone, I've been at it for over 2 hours and can't find a solution!

Hi Belly Button does the antenna light come on? If not then you will have to press Fn+ f6 or a different "F" button the one that looks like an antenna. If that doesn't work or if that is not the problem then you have to turn it on by software. Go into network connections and right click your wireless card, if you have a Intel card, or a Cisco, or an IBM right click and enable.
Ask if you have any other questions.
