Thinking one has too much character to want to consider management position?

Thoughts?

Maybe if one has an issue with authority, one does not want to become authority figure themselves. :p

I hate being management. I don't want to lead I just want to do my job and be left alone. Now go away and let me look at the booties.

Precisely.

Remember American Beauty?

"I want as little responsibility as possible."

Stark: Possibly a whole crap load of unruley funks. :p

And as to xaigi's response: Rarely has the adjetive "qualified" been used to describe one in a management position. Maybe one would not want to be in the company of such.

Well, it does come down to shouldering responsibility. Crap rolls uphill as well as down since managers can take the axe if something really bad happens, while a technical grunt with knowledge that is essential to company operations can wade through the same situation with minimal problems (maybe a reprimand) -- seen that happen. Of course, you're in charge, and you make more money. Some people like the challenge while others just want to plug away without worrying about "management" issues.

<< Of course, money is NOT everything. >>

I agree. Now, if I could only convince my wife... ;)
