thinking of watercooling have few questions

the only parts that need voltage are the pump and the fans right? Does an 300 watt ATX power supply cut it or do i need bigger,or other? when i push the power on does the water pump start auto.?

have not bought one as of yet. I do have an extra 400 watt PS. I will not have to plug it into a wall outlet will i and if so will it start when i power on the pc?

Like hytek369 says, depends on the pump. Check out the specs on whatever pumps you're considering and look for either the Watt (W) or Ampere/milliamp (A/mA) ratings. Convert A/mA to W my multiplying A by 12 or mA by 0.012. Figure anything under, say, 75W ought to be okay, unless you're also running other power-hungry devices. I ran a dual celeron rig with peltiers off a total cheapo 300W PS with no problems. Assuming you are using a 12 volt dc pump properly wired to a Molex connector, it should power up without problem off the PSU.

I just plug my pump into a powerstrip and when my computer goes off (it's plugged into the strip too) i switch it off. I can't turn on the computer without turning on the powerstrip and the pump 🙂

i get what your saying but it is a shared computer i can remember but it is the others that might not🙂
