Thinking of upgrading my Ubuntu 7.10

Should I wait for 9.04?
Should I go for 8.10?
Should I just do 8.04 since it's designated as a "long term support" release?

I can understand the disadvantages of upgrading to 9.04 right off the bat (bugs), but what are the disadvantages of using, say, 8.10? And what advantages might using 9.04 bestow?

8.04. I wish I stuck with it, but I wanted to install it easily with it's windows installer. (For desktop, which I couldn't repartition for dualboot.)

8.10 has Ruby 1.87 which doesn't work for RoR development for me, so I needed to manually downgrade it. Also, Amarok depends on Ruby 1.87 so, I also lost Amarok in 8.10.

i would have stayed with 8.4 if my laptop sleep and wireless worked properly with it when 8.10 came out. it didnt, so i upgraded, and thats really the only thing i think i cared about. 8.10 is solid for me right now

I'm a linux noobie that uses Ubuntu 8.10. It seems pretty nice, though I recently ran into a problem with GNOME not liking the NVIDIA drivers and SLI x.x
