Thinking of trading my s939 system

Hi guys, I have this system

MSI Neo2 Platinum
A64 3000 retail
2x256 pc3200 ram
BBA 9800 Pro

It is clocked at:

265 HTT
9x CPU (2380)
1.55v
3x HT
133 divider (176)
2-3-2-7 1T timings

I never owned a P4 or s754 system before and I am thinking of trading it. Something fairly high clocked (2.5 or 3.6ghz) and a gig of ram with a 6800nu maybe.

How would this stack up to my current system. I only play BF2 and CSS on 1024:768 and will be gaming on the XBOX360 for the next gen games. Any suggestions?

I am also curious about the mobile chips too, although I don't know if I will be able to find a DTR or P-M.

Do you think I should try to trade? Are there any takers out there?

I'm kind of confused... why would you go from 939 to 754?

I think you'd be best off getting that ram up to a gig and then spending the rest on a better videocard.

I never had a S754 system. I know people with DTR's and Newarks that have really good systems. If I could trade down and get a nice clocking setup with a gig of ram, I'd do it. I am more interested in P4's.

Your on the best gaming platform available, just upgrade ram and GPU, and CPU if you want. Going to S754 or P4 isn't going to help.

I am not that big of a gamer anymore. I doubt any new pc is cpu limited anyway. I have a 2.8C at work and I like it a lot more than mine. It is a crappy Dell too.

This post wasn't meant to be a FS/FT type. I am asking if it is worth it? You can offer me whatever you want via PM though.

You want a dual core proc? PD 2.8's are dirt cheap atm, otherwise, I'd look for a 3.2 or 3.4C (Northwood) P4.

That might be because you only have 512MB RAM. If you want to get a better rig, get more RAM, a better GPU if you want, a new Venice CPU to overclock, an X2. Going to S754 of S478 is a downgrade, unless it has 1GB RAM, a better GPU, etc., in which case, adding that to your current computer will make it better. Why do you want to go to a dead platform?
