Thinking of riding my motorcycle to work today.

Just yesterday I was in a meeting with a corporate manager who has been regularly visiting each of our stores all across the country (hundreds) for the last 29 years. No one in the meeting said anything about ATL having particularly bad traffic, but she volunteered saying "Everywhere I go, people say they have the worst traffic and I always have to correct them. You've got it right here." She gestured by pointing at the ground.

My regular commute was from the I-15 Carroll Canyon Rd exit into the city but most of that was CA-163. 15 minutes to Little Itally even with traffic! Thanks, California, for allowing lane-splitting. 😉

I used to work off the Carroll Canyon Rd exit right near the 15. That was 15 years ago though, now I'm in Poway and traffic on the 15 is much better now than it was then. Used to be a parking lot from 2PM-7PM on Fridays every week but since they've added the HOV lanes it is not nearly as bad.

Wish I still had that Multistrada loaner I had last week. Man, that bike is comfortable to commute on.

Is it really? I got one for my scooter, haven't bothered to put it on yet.

If you ride it regularly and your charging system is working properly you probably won't need it but if the bike sits for long periods or you only use it for very short rides it is probably a good idea to use one. It will extend the life of your battery.

It's better in Naples.

But it would be even better if I was there and not in Michigan.

Have a great and safe ride. Walking out of work and firing up the bike is the best. The moment I throw a leg over work totally disappears.

Full body armor and flip flops bro!

Just the usual gear. Shoei RF1100 lid, A* leather jacket, Dainese leather gloves, jeans and Sidi boots.

I had to wear my backpack today though because I brought my laptop home with me the night before and it doesn't fit in my tank bag.

Thanks. Ride in was good. Ride home will be dark out but I'm looking forward to it. 😎

When I lived in southern California and owned a motorcycle, I wouldn't even hit the snooze button in the morning because of how much I enjoyed my commute. When I had a family and started driving a car most of the time a good audio book would help, but nothing fixes a bad day at work like a nice ride home on two wheels.

A fishing pole in the back of a truck is a close second if you have an hour or so before or after work to hit the fishing holes along the way.

I used to surf after work so a board on the roof rack was frequently an option.

FYI-The "TPR for exhaust heat resistant" is on the wrong side of the sandal. :colbert:

I bought these recently. Very comfortable and they breathe well.

Wrong foot for "gear shaft protection" too. I used to link to a different marketing poster of these sandals when I wanted to make fun of squids who wear flip-flops on a bike.

Aww, I guess when your state stops finally being in it's "forest fire" season, you get to gloat about nice weather. Must be really nice enjoying the sun in a charred pile of liberals.

I am not of fan of 'donorcycles' but at least there are still organ donors out there. Please sign your donor application.

Nope, not an organ donor...

A good bit of the danger can be mitigated by not doing stupid crap and being alert. Not drinking alcohol before riding also goes a long way toward ensuring you aren't taking a one way trip to the morgue.

Thanks for your concern though. :\

Why wouldn't you sign it? I am confused.

I'm assuming the left sandal is the same as the right sandal (pictured) so it would have the same "protection" on the top as the right even though the right foot is used to operate the brake and would never see the underside of the brake lever.

BTW-My Sidi motorcycle boots have that gear shift protective coating on both sides too.

But yeah, technically you are correct.

No real reason for this to have the coating on both toes other than aesthetics but there it is...

Because if there is even a hint of truth to the stories of a hospital not being as inclined to save you vs harvesting your organs I'd rather error on the side of them saving me by not presenting them with the option.

If hospital staff are willing to let a person they are sworn to do everything in their power to save die for harvest their organs, what are the chances they'd care if you were a donor or not? It isn't like anyone is going to check if they are still there after you die.

Further proof motorcyclists are dumb and piss off us regular commuters.

And these are the same organizations you hear of removing the wrong limb on a patient or performing the wrong procedure on people... :whiste:

I'd rather leave the decision to my wife... not a bunch of doctors I've never met. If she is satisfied that I am deceased and they have done everything they can for me then she can make the decision.

I have no clue what those acronyms mean and I could care less. Just sign the card and do everyone a favor.

You're going to see it a lot here... most n00bs do, especially the more prolific ones. Google it.

If you really are new to the forum then I say welcome. If you were someone else on here who was previously banned I'm sure you won't be around long.
