Thinking of returning my Android phone

i grew up in Grand Rapids, hows the city doing?

Its seen better days. Steelcase is all but Bankrupt. GM closed most of the plants around and so Wyoming is one big ghetto now.

With all that going on though...the people have never been nicer. I don't think I will ever get used to seeing people fight to hold doors for each other or get excited when they get to let someone out into traffic. As much as I would love to hate this place, I'll never move.

Come by sometime for Festival. Its a food and art thing they do every summer. Its grown huge now with a really nice art contest. Last year people built some mammoth sculptures in the middle of the Grand. Its a great time and you can spend the whole day wandering around, eating GREAT food, drinking all kinds of drinks (not my thing but most people love it) and checking out all kinds of different cultures. Its dirt cheap and a great weekend.

As with every discussion about signal strength, it varies by region. In my area, AT&T has the best signal strength, by far. Verizon is a close second, and Sprint - well - good luck with that.

Of course but Verizon and Sprint are way ahead in total coverage for 3G. When a company has to resort to Wifi networks nationwide to supplement their lack of 3G, you know it's sad.

Not to go off topic but surely I'm not the only one who thinks it is crazy that AT&T/T-Mobile/to a lesser extent Sprint are focusing on implementing higher speed coverage in existing high speed areas instead of increasing their coverage. There's still tons of places all over the country where you can't get more than dial up speeds on any of those carriers; tons of people waiting for decent data coverage. These people aren't getting it anytime soon, the only people who are getting anything are the people who already have good 3G. If AT&T converted their entire 3G network as is to be ten times faster than it is now, it would still be a crappy network that would have most people using Edge most of the time.

I totally agree with T-mobile.
I never had coverage issue with Sprint.
ATT and Verizon I don't have experience with.
T-mobile really need to increase their coverage instead of this HSPA+ crap.
I live in a city that has HSPA+ and its still crap.

as most customers know verizon 3g is really slow and spotty. if you want fast 3g go get att

Verizon 4G is said to be better coverage even indoors. I can't wait, as this was the reason I had to return my Droid X. Everything about the phone was fine... well except the 1-day battery life even without doing much.

Then something must have been wrong as the Droid X is one of the few Android phones with GREAT battery life that rivals the iPhone 4.

Played with a DRoid 2 in store, and it looks like shit.

Also, still kind of laggy.

hmm yeah...I am understanding how The Fucking N... Network works.

Anywho, I deploy phones as part of my job. People are picking Droid 2 and not wanting them.

DroidX would have been a better choice for those wanting an iPhone.

People choose cheap and then regret it.

Who recommended a Droid2 to someone wanting an iPhone? That's not a sane recommendation, IMO. I also don't remember the Droid2 being cheaper than the DroidX.

But I suppose I'm happy with it because I haven't experienced any lag with it whatsoever, and it meets my hardware keyboard requirement.
