Thinking of leaving Sprint PCS to go to Verizon...

Well I've had about enough of SPCS. I'm traveling a lot and I can't even get a signal in my hotel room or even in my house...grrrr! Sprints CS is the worst and not very helpful.

Anyways, I was thinking of moving over to Verizon. Their new plans seem like a fair deal and was wondering if you guys have any input on Verizon's service and signal strength.

I was also looking at the Motorola V60c from Verizon...anyone out thier using this phone or seen a review of it?

Thanks in advance

hmm i have travelled across the country a few times and NEVER have had a problem getting a signal with my PCS phone. but i have heard a lot of good things about verizon. their customer service is the best from what i understand.

Verizon's national plans are suck. I had it for about a month and couldn't use it in 80% of their markets.

This was a while ago, so maybe they've gotten better, but I just went from Verizon to Sprint and I'm very happy I did.

im in fort lauderdale fl with cingular and i always have a signal everywhere inside or out. 🙂

i use to have sprint and almost always lost my signal, and i would get voicemails months late.

pulse was that with that new americas choice or whatever it is? from what i heard, it is pretty good now. but they just run off of PCS towers...so you would probably get the same connection anyway. of course i may just be talking out of my ass, it has been known to happen.

Do it! SPCS just laid off 3000 CSRs, so their CS won?t be getting better anytime soon. Verizon is so much better than Sprint (maybe a little more money, but it's worth it). Their customer service is currently top notch, and Verizon's own CDMA signal is generally on the 800 MHz band, which can travel farther both into buildings and over the air.

Be aware that all the regional single rate plans have been replaced by "Americas Choice," which may be fine for you, but Single Rate National (no roaming or long distance anywhere in the US) is still available if you want it, though it's not on the web site, and I don't think SRN plans currently offer any bonus weekend minutes.

With any cellco it just depends on where you spend most of your time on the phone. They all have bad areas.

The new Verizon AC plan plan runs off Verizon, Alltel, and Sprint PCS. According to the peeps in the Verizon news group, the roaming list on the AC plan generally follows this priority:
  1. 1. Verizon Digital (800 MHz CDMA)
    2. Verizon Analog (800 MHz AMPS)
    3. Alltel Digital (800 MHz CDMA)
    4. Alltel Analog (800 MHz AMPS)
    5. Sprint PCS (1900 MHz CDMA)
Hope this helps.

I switched from SPCS to Verizon a few months ago and have not looked back. It has been really nice going from virtually no customer service to very good CS. The SPCS signal was good most places but had been dreadful since I moved to Seattle/Tacoma, so a change was in order. I have one of the now-unavailable Western Regional plans and have been very pleased.

Where did you hear this??? I am with Verizon and they have screwed me over multiple times. Their reps have flat out lied to us (which cost a lot of money). They screw everything up. I hate them. The only good thing is I get reception (not always good) everywhere.

Can't say about Ohio, but here in Jersey I dropped Sprint for Verizon and that could not have been a better move.

Just a little update. I signed up for Verizon today. I am using the LG-TM510 phone. It is really nice to be able to sit in my apartment and have a signal. Damn Sprint...buh-bye...
