So I'm thinking of installing the beta of win7, to decide if I want to buy it or not. Currenty I run vista. I'm no tech newb and will definetly perform a full reformat before installing. The only question I have is, how have others found the software compatibility of win 7? Have you found any apps that ran under vista that didn't run in win7? Excluding virus scanners and firewalls, as these are unlikely to be compatible.

0 probs so far.. I've installed Adobe/Cyberlink/Autodesk apps with no issues.

I for one can't wait for the final release.. Very nice so far.

Only problem I have run into is with itunes. It works fine with music but when I try to sync it with video it fails. Other than that everything has worked fine.

Not that a clean install isn't often better, but I've upgraded my desktop machine from vista to w7 thru almost every weekly build and it's been stable the whole time.

Have any of you with a Epson r260 inkjet printer been able to get the printer to work in Windows 7?

I was comfortable enough on the test installations I did at home to install on my work laptop that I use 9 hours a day. No compatibility problems at all so far.

I remember reading that MS actually wants people to upgrade instead of a clean install as that represents a more realistic usage scenario for the average upgrader.
