Im confused, by the bold and newbie status I assume he is a spammer. Yet there are no links to a dental service or anything. Are the spammers getting more coherent? Are they trying to intiate themselves into the community first with a story of out of country dental work to get ATOTers to go to their columbian dental service?

I must go ponder the meaning of life.
 
Don't you guys find it kinda freakish that the only two people in this thread who are strongly advocating the idea have a very low post count and yet have been members here for quite a while? This dental business must surely mean a lot to them.

Frankly, I would go to Europe (Turkey and a couple of places in Bulgaria and Hungary being a prime choice) for this kind of stuff... Still cheaper than in the U.S., you see lots more, it's more civilised, and poses zero risks...

I know people who go to Poland for their dental work.
 
OP: How much it's going to cost for the dental work? Make sure you get it from a professional. If you go there, go to the US Embassy and let them know what you are up to. And, please don't be a mule or carrier for whatever they want you to take to the US.
 
I'll say this. I live in Houston, and am a Mexican-American currently self-employed. I don't have insurance right now as I am working from home temp. until I find a new job. Alot of my friends and family drive down to Mexico, 6-8 hour drive on the weekend to get thier dental work done for about 70% cheaper than here in Houston. Usually they go to a know family dentist that has worked on other friends or family members. But when your dental work is $2000 in the U.S. and you can drive for a few hours down to Mexico and save yourself $1400, I think its more than worth it. But you have to go to a well-known dentist who's been in practice for awhile. Don't expect to go and just find any dentist...... as always one must do thier research BEFORE a major operation.
 
If you won't drink the tapwater in the country where you are having surgery, then you might wan't to rethink your choice.

It?s me again this is not a scam post, and I am in need of getting some major dental work done. I cannot afford the high price of getting my dental work done in the US, as the cost would exceed $10000.00 dollars.

I am a federal employee without dental coverage (I don't anticipate ever getting dental insurance from my job), I know that it?s pretty hard to believe but that's the way that it is.
Just to answer a few of the "questions" the reason for my low post count is that I don't spend all my free time reading forum posts and submitting useless post in order to increase the number of posts that I have to inflate my "cyber ego"!!!

I have been a member of an online car audio forum since 12/2000 and have about 140 posts on the site I'll ask a question when I need an answer or feel that I have something positive to contribute I'll post.

I know that I'll never be a Senior/Platinum or an Ultimate member or what ever is used to denote that type of person, but hay I am comfortable with that. I just wanted to post my situation, and get your opinion about dental work being preformed in a foreign country.

I have co-workers that are foreigners and expressed to me that the quality of dental work in there countries is excellent. Please advise if you have any knowledge about this situation.

I love America and I live my job I just cannot afford nor could I justify paying about $10,000.00 for work that I can have done for about one third of the price in another country.

That pretty sums it up for me.

Sorry if I stirred up some crap and some of you got bent out of shape, but that one is on you not me.
