Here is one I just found, mint, and loaded.

Love that color.

It's silver. Not exactly ground breaking nor unique ;)

Look again, it's a light sky blue! :)

It is a light silver, the lighting is throwing you off.

You're right, it does say Silverstone... I've see so many pics with that same light sky blue hue to it, that I figured it was a factory color... LOL

Seems like quite a bit of money to spend on something you won't drive much. As I always say, if you're buying a used BMW keep some money in the bank for repairs, cause they won't come cheap. Good luck and keep us posted on what you do.

AAAAAAAAH My second favorite all time car ever after the 850csi......sooooooooo delecious yummmm...
Too bad I never got to drive one :( :(

But 70K looks on the high side to me......if you can't get him to cut down the price significantly (especially after checkup at dealership) then I would say NO don't go for it.

BTW good idea with the stealth stuff....the last thing you want people to know is that your 4 Dr Sedan has an S62 demon under the hood no one will leave you alone for sure cops & ricers.
Also the color sucks balls.....from my POV the 4 colors that the M5 really looked best in are by order of my taste:

* Carbon Black Metallic
* Sterling Grey metallic
* LeMans Metallic
* Silverstone Metallic

So my opinion is that if he can drop the price well to a reasonable level.....then you do the debadging repainting to a proper color, tinting, upgrade to angel eyes, small performance upgrade of your choice (BUT KEEP TEH WHEELS BRO) that would be nice pickup. Otherwise listen to your fellow ATERs and look for a better deal.....it wasn't sooo long ago when I saw a 2003 E39 M5 Black on Black 30k miles go for $29k on Ebay ;(

DT, yes! Agreed on all points. I'm not crazy about the red (already have a red Focus, lol), and I'm a little nervous about having an //M5 with 70k+ miles on to start with. I think I'll wait a little bit and look for one with 25-35k miles. I really miss the old one, RIP.

For the wheels, I was thinking : http://www.discounttire.com/dt...=&vid=007657&tc=BEYBY5

I could probably sell the current rim set for a decent $$, or just stock it until I sell it, which I would probably do around ~100k miles.

Well It's your choice....but to say my opinion I hate Chrome and I think putting it on an E39 M5 really defeats the purpose of what an E39 M5 is...TBH I think the M5 rims are teh sex when it comes to rims.....not flashy yet not so modest either. The type of rims appreciated by those with nice well balanced taste. Especially the ones with the tad dark Aluminum matte finish like that one nice.

Oh and as mentioned above selling the rims on an E39 might not be the smartest idea unless you are very very sure that you want to keep it till it dies.

Kind of silly? It's ridiculous...

Well, the beauty of the car is unaffected by the //M badge one way or the other. It's what's under the skin that makes it what it is ;)

That car looks like it's in immaculate condition. Do you really need 2 cars for a 1.5 mile commute? Sell one and get a bike.

chrome = no no. the current rims will be about 1000% more tasteful than what you have linked.
