I've been trying to get a job with the State Deparment and all of a sudden they want to interview me.

The person said that the interview will cover basic world current events/politics...

I'm not really what you would call "informed" in this area and was wondering what the best way to brush up on this area would be.

I am of course going to the bookstore and reasind all the latest Economist, Time, etc...

I have exactly 4 days.
Thanx

Why would you be interested in a job you have little knowledge in? If you don't feel the need to follow world events, why would you be interested in working at the State Department? Just curious.

I'm actually looking for a job within the State Dept that has nothing to do with World Affairs...however, they for some odd reason want to hire people that have a good solid knowledge in that area...I have no idea why.

Read magazines like Newsweek, Times, The Economist, News and World Report. Be familiar with basic things that have happened in other countries. Read P&N. That's everything I can think of right now. Usually it takes years to become fluent with understanding domestic and international affairs.
