What are the big Pro's and Con's of the board? Any known issues? Are there other boards I should be looking at?

Right now I'm using a DFI NF4 Ultra-D with an X2 3800 and this thing had been a PITA ever sinc I got it, and now I come to find that it's killing HDDs. So ya, I'm pretty P'ed right now.

SLI really isn't that big of a deal, but it's a nice option for down the road sinc I may switch from ATI to Nvidia cards (Unless the X1900 really blows me away. but lets not get into that right now).

I do a good amount of editting on my computer but also do alot of gaming. Asfar as Overclocking goes, meh, I don't really care anymore. I want a GOOD motherbard. not a "OMG THIS ROX0RZZ!!!!" Board. (*Cough* Abit *cough*)

I have a good sound card so on-board sound isn't a must. But it NEEDS Firewire.

So, what have you?

It's beautiful, OCs well, is very difficult to find & is insanely high/over-priced :p

It s very good mobo, haven't had problems with it yet. But its only been a week. It does have it quirks with some ppl but I guess most of those will be fixed with BIOS updates and such. It is a bit overpriced right now.

If you really want one then just go to Ebay like I did. You may pay a little more, but at least you will have one....

Ok, This is getting pretty darn pathetic.

No matter where I look now that I have to money to spend on the Board; They are all sold out and gone silly with price gouging!

The GTO2 wasn't this hard to find. :|

IT'S JUST A ******* MOTHERBOARD!

He he. Ya, I thought it was pretty silly too...and yet somehow, I HAD to have it *rolls eyes at his own foolishness*.

Anyway, I couldn't bring myself to spend $400+ on ebay for one (that's what they seem to be going for).

As mentioned in another post, I got the demo unit @ Fry's....sounds like I'm going to have to track down a couple of missing extras, but at least I didn't pay over price (until I have to cough up the cash for those cables I didn't get *rolls eyes again*)

Meh, cables are cheap. And you got the Board so thats all that matters.

Go into the FS/FT Forum and I bet you can buy some cables for dirt cheap. The SLI connector you will have to get from ASUS though.

It is a hard mobo to get, I got lucky to get mine, from what I have read ASUS is chrning these out as much as they can but there is more demand than supply and plus hey it's the holidays, I think to get one for a decent, you're gonna have to wait till after the holidays most likely.

It's the BEST motherboard I have ever owned. I've been building computers for over 14 years and have no found a more "future-proof" motherboard, which is tough to say about any computer related technology since it does change so fast. However, in terms of what is out there currently, you simply can't go wrong.

Sure it has it's quirks but those will be fixed through BIOS updates.

Would you consider the A8N32-SLI Premium? It doesn't have a whiny motherboard fan that the regular version does.

Also, don't pair it up with an Antec HE Neo. There are known compatibility issues with the pair.

Do you mean the A8N-SLI Premium as opposed to the A8N32-SLI Premium? The only "A8N32" board is the A8N32-SLI which is out of stock right now. I think.
