Thinking about upgrading my system, and need a vid card recommendation

Right now I have an Epox 8k7a+ and AMD t-bird with a G-force 3 64 MB card.

I am considering moving to a Pentium MB with a 2.4 GHz processor or higher.


What is the best performing vid card for this system in the $200-$250 range?

In that range, the ATI 9700 would be your best bet, you might be able to find a 9700pro in that price range as well.

^^ good advice, or wait a little for the 9800 non-pro to come out from more vendors and hopefully drop in price.

9700Np in the $200 range, 9700 pro in the $250 range

Or get a cheap $100 card that will run all of today's games and wait and see if the next generation of games needs more than a 9800 Pro or 5900 Ultra can deliver.
