Thinking about trying SuSE Linux 9.2

40 gig hard drive
CD burner / no DVD burner
256 ATI

I want to give it a try, but the download is 3.1gb. Do I need to buy a DVD burner?

you can do the FTP installing method.

check ftp mirrors speed before starting

I tried it with and older system and it took me a while to find which network driver to load but other than that it seems to work great

also I'd just load the base system first
don't get carried away
you can always get the rest later.

I have always used suse.de or ftp.nluug.nl any time I have used one in the us the transfer rates were awful.

I've had good luck with a few that are close but I guess it depends on a lot of things
