precisely. i checked out this local smoke shop looking for some cigars to celebrate my new nephew being born. they let me buff some maple dipped tobacco leaves. i nearly came in my pants.

A good friend of mine has started smoking a pipe, along with a bunch of his friends in that city (I'm in a different state). When I visited, we puffed some with a friend of his that actually carves and makes pipes. It was pretty cool. It takes about as much time as a cigar, but you're smoking a lot less volume of smoke. So, less nicotine, which is good for me because cigars have started giving me headaches.

There are much higher grades of pipe tobacco than your standard flavored or "aromatic" tobacco. You have to get it online. Basically, it's as good a quality as good cigar tobacco. The stuff I smoked had been formed into these little disks. Look online for pipe tobacco forums.

The aromatic stuff doesn't actually taste any different than the regular stuff. I've smoked a pipe on occasion, but find a cigar is much less hassle, a better taste, and gives a better buzz.

Cigars are okay, but it looks like there's a giant piece of shit hanging out of your mouth. Pipes manage to be classy without being bourgeois.

I'm a longtime cigarette smoker, and like you, wanted to try a pipe. I found it difficult to restrain the urge to deeply inhale.

PS - the pipe tobacco smells AWESOME. Dunno why you're not supposed to inhale.

I enjoy smoking my pipe, can't wait for the temperature to change so I can sit out on my porch in my rocking chair. Yes, it is more of a hassle than a cigar. But I can smoke any amount I want, the aroma is much more pleasant to those around me, and it is boatloads cheaper.

I'm not looking to smoke it like a pack a day smoker. I should be alright..family has no history of cancer..and my grandpa smoked two packs a day for fifty years. If I smoke on occassion like once a week before I get plastered (thursdays or fridays) id be good till I'm 70 some.

I have gotten a few cigars...and they're classy but nothing spells badass like a fancy pipe...cigars are too trendy. Do they sell starter kits?


Edit: haters and health freaks can stay out. Plenty of cigar/pipe smpkers have led fulfiling lives while smoking occasionally. Hell michael jordan smoked cigars when he was dunking over kobe. I didn't ask for how it can damage my health...I asked how to be a straight pimp

Beat me to it. Cigs are a million times worse than a cigar or pipe. You don't smoke twenty pipes a day....you smoke one per week. As opposed to over a hundred cigs. I have looked it up...bsides pipe tobacco has less additives so is slightly better, you're not sucking down fiberglass and cat urine.

And yes I did witness the morning yack routine...but my grandpa onlystarted that when he was ninety five andhaving smokied for fifty plus years.

Some studies have proven that pipe smoking has a benefit to a healthy individual. You're not supposed to inhale, you hold the smoke in your mouth - while this still provides contact with blood vessels, it's safe to say you've probably inhaled far worse things walking around a major metro area. It's also methodical, you CANNOT rapidly smoke a pipe. It's a process and takes time, and you're not supposed to use a briar pipe more than once every 3 days. But then again, that's why most people own more than one pipe.

But hey, supposedly oral sex causes cancer too - did you stop blowing your boyfriend?
