As topic, thinking of doing that, but with throttling and all the limitations of it, is there really any "value" in it anymore? Is it even worth the effort to sell/transfer the account?

Unlimited data plans aren't really valuable anymore. Stuff like Straight Talk makes them obsolete.

well, test drive t-mobile first to see if it works out for you

AT&T throttles unlimited after 3-5GB, so it's not as good as verizon's really unlimited grandfathered plan

only thing i see of value would be the current FCC lawsuit against AT&T... maybe FCC will force AT&T to stop throttling, or give refunds to existing grandfathered unlimited plans...

if you want, try contacting AT&T and see if they'll give you a decent data bucket deal (eg 8-10GB) for what you're currently paying

I went through the process of trying to get my hands on an unlimited account. Sadly, AT&T policy is to force a new user to pick an up to date plan. You will not be able to transfer it to anyone.

I've tried quite a few times and failed despite some creative workarounds :)

Damn :) Well, makes transferring my number easier then.

How bad is AT&T's throttle on "Unlimited" data?

I would say 0.1-0.5mbits/s

Tmobile's throttle (for non unlimited plans, when you go over the data bucket) is 0.128mbits/s for postpaid, maybe 0.064mbits/s for prepaid. You can decide to temporarily "bump" yourself up to another data bucket or unlimited, and get prorated for that month. No such option for AT&T
