IMO Matte black looks the f0cking sh!t! Not everyone tastes but I LOVE it personallyl.

I'm hesitant about the wrap though and obviously the cost...too cheap to pay for a wrap :(

Anytime I see a matte finish car, I assume the owner ran out of money before he could spray it. I always think maybe they got the primer on before they realized how expensive a good paint job is.

I saw an Aston Martin Vantage painted matte black. I see these cars all the time, but the paint on this one really caught my attention. It looked like a friggin stealth fighter.

Go with what you like, don't worry about what others think.

The only matte black I've seen on a car that I liked was a Ford GT. I've also seen several Mustangs with glossy bodies and matte black stripes, but that doesn't really count.

IMO, matte only looks good under ideal lighting, and pretty horrible otherwise. I wouldn't do it.

Getting it professionally done will run you between $4000 and $7000 for a good job. A family friend worked for skinzwraps and now runs his own small company. If you go cheaper than that they are either skimping on the install or the vinyl.

I think it looks like ass, but it's not my car. If you like it, do it and don't worry about what anyone else thinks.

No. It looks like you did prep work and then ran out of money to finish the paint job.

I do like where that guy got his pics, though.

My hypothesis is that the majority of the population does not know what a car prepped for paint looks like, and thus this is new and cool.

Ah the Batmobile fad. Increased in popularity right after the Dark Knight.

*The Z4 is ugly no matter what color it is painted.

*No one buys matte black in a volume that is sustainable for production. What does that color look like after 10 years of UV exposure? Hmm?

*Matte black looks like shitty gray under direct sunlight.

There were a few F430s that looked decent in matte. It works ok with a clearcoat.

It costs way too much money to repaint a car unless you want the shittiest paint job ever. I really don't see the point of a flat black car unless you are going to drive it only at night or low light environments. It just looks silly during the day.
