Thinking about getting a subaru tribeca, opinions?

Depends entirely on what you are more interested in. Tribeca is an SUV, Sienna is a minivan. The Sienna is bigger, and is much more practical (better family vehicle) than the Tribeca. I would put money on the Tribeca's AWD system being the better of the two.

So, what is more important to you? Practicality or AWD capability?

because you even considered the sienna, i'm going to guess this vehicle will be used mostly as a suburban-taxi, and occasionally for trips to the snow or for the occasional local snowfall? if so, i'll bet the sienna would fit your overall needs better. plus, bland is better than ugly.

What about the Forester, is it getting redesigned too? I'm thinking about buying one.

Is it that good of an idea to buy a first year redesign and new engine?

It is much roomier on the inside than other Subarus I've been in. I currently drive a WRX wagon, and as a 6' guy it feels pretty cramped at times.

I don't own one, so I can't give a really authoritative opinion on the vehicle. However, there is one thing that everyone can agree on. The Tribeca is FUGLY.

i'd say they're both minivans. but no one listens.

How about the audi q7? Its within my budget so I am only concerned about quality.
audi is not synonymous with quality. if you want quality, get the lexus. if you want decent quality and something that isn't butt ugly, get an X5 or X3. if you want a shoe, get the FX.

noone ever thought any car manufacturer could dethrone Pontiac in making the ugliest vehicle in recent history....that is until Subaru came out with the B9 Tribeca. There isnt a single pleasing thing about that vehicle.

Despite not being built on a truck chassis, the Tribeca is still an SUV. Minivans have sliding rear doors, a feature the Tribeca lacks. Even the worst minivan's ease of ingress/egress is superior to any and all SUVs.

Not a chance in hell that any vehicle, including the Tribeca, will dethrone the Aztek.

Even if the Tribeca isn't the most visually pleasing vehicle, the build quality is top-notch.
