I'm a fan of my one and only tattoo Getting it touched up and maybe the one fin extended onto the bottom tomorrow (haven't decided on the fin yet though). That sucker hurt!

Looks like it would hurt. Damn. How long before you could wear a shoe after that tattoo?

Yeah, I had to go scuba diving the very next day for work...hence the reason why I'm having to touch it up so soon after (got it in June). I was able to wear shoes fine....I just laced them very loosely and wore sandals in the shade as often as possible.....A&D was my best friend too.

Being winter now I'll just have to deal. But I figure I can take the opportunity to do it now whilst my foot can be dry over the Xmas break since I won't be working afterall, and get a good 11 days to heal properly before going back to the grind.

Just in those real boney spots on the outside of the foot, and at the ankle-joint-area....and up oin the achilles area...God that hurt like a bitch.

How much did that run you?
I don't know what to expect price wise.
I would like mine no bigger that 2"x2". Smaller if possible, but with color. That might actually cost more.

Well, mine is considerably larger than 2"x2". It was $250 plus $50 tip. I finally got it touched up last night (at the guy's house, since he decided to take the winter off and do fun stuff...but he saw me anyway, really nice guy...). Free plus $80 tip.

Thats what I was just thinking.

On a completly unrelated note, who here likes the chicks over at Suicide Girls?
Do you gents like a girl to have 90% of her surface area covered in color?
Or do you prefer a little cutie with an adorable heart or teddy on her butt?

On a related note:
Having been in the Navy for 8 years I can say one thing with certainty.
Do NOT skimp on the cost.
I'm not talking about the quality of art, although that is important. I'm talking about the cleanliness of the establishment and concern of the artist for your well being.

Take some time to research the place and learn about their procedures. Its like any other place that will be poking and probing your body. You want someone to work on you who is willing to answer all your questions and address any concerns you may have.

Never was foolish enough to get one myself. But I saw plenty of good tats and plenty that were crap. Even saw a few that were so unhealthy they actually destroyed some sailors careers.

Disease is bad, mkay?

Yeah. Well I found a place that has absolute great reviews.
On their website they tell you that they open the package of every needle in front of you every time.
They also display some of their work. It looks good. Mine wouldn't be so complicated.
It's a pretty simple design.
It's small, and should be relatively cheap.
May'be I'll go next week if I decide to do it.

This is the one I will get if I get one at all.

for serious? that's kinda light colored...remember there is no white ink..so everything that is white in the artwork will be flesh colored on your body

There is white ink. I have a tattoo on my arm with white ink. Being that I am very fair skinned, it stayed for the past 5 years. They did tell me that the white will fade if not completely disappear in time. And it's true. It did.

Sure go for it. Then put your downpayment on a trailer, pull the engine out of your car and park it in the front yard to let the weeds grow up around it.

Another member of the trailer trash brigade.

I'm confused as to why you would think a small tattoo above my crotch, to the right, hidden my my pants would make me trailer park trash.
Care to explain?
If anything it would make me just plain gay. But not trailer park trash.

i should have said " they dont have white ink that last...especially when used in large amounts" it will fade quickly. It should only be used for highlighting etc. I dont see the point of spending money on something you know wont last

Seriously, Only someone who's as ignorant as the stereotype they're suggesting would say such a thing.

Just a bit of advise. Lower back tats on Girls and Tribal tats on guys have quickly lost originality and have become the laughing stock. Avoid these at all costs.

I would get a tattoo, maybe, if I weren't a lardbutt. Eventually I'll lose weight or get old or something and it will look crappy. Maybe on my calf or some other area of my body with not a lot of fat. I wouldn't want it to be super visible either- hidden unless I wanted to show someone.
