Tomorrw morning, I have a semester project where I have to write up a paper on the movie Glory comparing it with real events. I never aw this movie and online reviews do not help.

Also, I have to give a presentation on a chapter of our History book in front of the class.

I have done neither of these and also missed a test last Wednesday I can't make up.

I'm preeeetty sure I'm failing this class and if I can't pull a report and a presenation out of my ass, I will fail the course for sure.

Um, why didn't you do the work? It doesn't sound that hard.

Oh, and Glory's a good movie. And Matthew Broderick is totally dreamy in it.

don't you have brains?

Not really. I was just diagnosed with ADD and when she teachs, she talks fast and doesn't keep the notes on the projector long enough for me to get them. I can only write at under 30 words per minute and she doesn't allow laptops in the classroom.

How does ADD correlate with slow-ass writing?

no point in staying. are you in college or HS?

if you're in college take oddball history classes. Stay away from US History, Western Civ, and anything that has to do with the Romans and Greeks(the Classics).

They can be correlated, although one of course doesn't cause the other. Lack of attention can often times be associated with slow processing and/or retrieval speeds, which in turn lead to slow writing.

By the way, if you're as behind as you say you are, and are positive you can't catch up, then dropping would be more beneficial than failing the class. But if you haven't already gotten some help for your ADD, then do so now. There are lots of ways to work around/through it so that you're on an equal footing with your classmates.

What happens when I drop a class?

If you're in college, you get a W on your transcripts and the grade doesn;t count against your GPA. Much better than an F or a D. IF your GPA is high enough even drop classes that you might get a C+/B- in to protect your GPA.

It sounds like your problem with the history class wasn't in taking notes, though. It sounds more like it was that you had to watch a movie and read a chapter from your book and you didn't. Even if you missed a lot of the notes in class, you could've found some info online about the events in the movie.

But I do hate it when teachers fly through the power point, and I don't get to write down all the notes, and if you really needed the notes to do the assignments, I retract my previous statement.

Good luck with whatever you do.
