Built in wireless - something like verizon wireless so I can access the net just about anywhere.

Must have either usb ports, or SD memory card reader, usb ports would be preferred.

Video editor - for editing 1080P HD video.

CPU with enough power to be able to edit a 1080p HD video without spending hours of encoding time.

Easy to use keyboard.

I would like something that I can take hiking / camping / out on the river, film a video, or take some pictures with my camera, edit and upload to youtube or my blog.

No, it sounds like you want a laptop. Or a future tablet that may never exist.

iMovies can edit 720p video but no tablet that is Android or iOS based will be able to edit videos in any type of reasonable time frame. What you want seems to be a laptop as TheStu suggested. While there are plenty of tablets that can be bought with support for either Verizon or AT&T wireless, and there are plenty of wireless keyboards for tablets, there are no tablets with the kind of power you're asking for. Heck, there aren't a lot of laptops with the kind of power you're wanting.

Something like that is what I might be looking for.

As an option, your Modbook Pro comes with a partitioned drive pre-installed with Microsoft® Windows® 7

With windows 7 I can use the same video editing and image editing software on the tablet and desktop.

As long as the system has a dual core cpu for video encoding, it should work ok.

why do you really need to encode? you can splice/trim/join video without re-encoding...

i have ipad 1 but want to get a new tablet but am waiting for a decent one on verizon 4g and a faster chip. they need higher clock speeds, not just multiple cores in order to provide anything that comes close to web browsing on a pc

Tablets are for consuming media, not producing it. You're going to pay out the ass for a product that won't work right. Stick with a laptop.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions.

Maybe my best bet is to get a dual core laptop with windows 7, and some kind of air card. I dont need anything fancy or expensive, just something that works.

I might wait until the black friday sale in november and see what I can get then. There is no big rush on this item, its just something I would like to be able to take to the deer camp and update youtube and my blog.

Agreed that Playbook can technically do it, but it has poor container support. The hardware is fine though (unlike all the Tegra 2 tablets).

What I am waiting for is the upcoming Archos tablets with the same OMAP (so it actually can be used) or Tegra 3 tablets (probably Galaxy Tab as Samsung has great mkv support).

Today the iPad 2 can already play all my 1080p mkv files in XBMC, but its HDMI support sucks. What I want in the long run is a tablet that lets me hook up a NTFS (or ext) USB drive and play my 1080p mkvs over HDMI. That would replace my laptop.
