Impressive, but why not just use a camera if you're going for photo-realistic for things that exist.
That's not nearly as impressive. That's like asking why a record speed runner doesn't use a motorcycle if he's trying to get somewhere quickly :^D

Interesting to think this was all possible with an instrument that's been around for 400 years, yet no one has been able to draw something this realistic until recently.
I love deviantart, they have so many skilled artists which make me wish I had that sort of skill.
